My son started doing taekwondo at the age of 7 after doing some winter rugby training at the club. When the training came to an end, he was a bit gutted so I spoke to the head coach who offered him a trial. And since then, he’s not looked back. Through taekwondo he has learnt much better coordination skills, got fitter, more flexible and with this its helped him even more in his second love of rugby. Throughout the years harry has developed so much and that’s down to his pure grit and determination not forgetting the amazing training delivered by all the coaches. The part my son’s like the most about Taekwondo in his words is “its where I can compete in fight competitions and put all the skills I’ve learnt into practice especially my favourite kick which is a reveres to the head”. One year into my son’s taekwondo training I turned up in my gym clothes to go for a run. The head coach approached me and said “why don’t you join in as you’ll get more from this than a run round the park”. Now then I’m always up for a challenge lets say. I found the training hard to begin with as its completely different to what I’m used to but I loved it. After the session I then got offered a trial and since then I’ve not looked back and I’ve now been at the same club about two years now. As a result, I have really improved my mental health, my fitness and flexibility and have enjoyed meeting new people. I did my very first taekwondo fight last year and I only lost by one point and I was awarded the fighter of the day. I couldn’t actually believe this but thinking about it now its down to the coaches for the training delivered in classes as well as the support given which got me to the end of that fight. While at the club I have been recognised for my commitment, dedication and the support I give to other students especially the younger ones as this come natural to me with working in a school. With this in mind I have won awards at presentation evening such as student of the year and most inspirational student.
I feel it needs something here to end it if that makes sence. Also theres two photos a on the second page just didn’t know which one to use or where to put them
Thank you, APEX, for making such a difference.

Apex taekwondo offer something that other taekwondo clubs fail to do. The classes are fun and engaging, while maintaining a high standard of coaching. My son has been with Apex for a couple of years and in that time has not only become a national taekwondo champion, but has made friendships, grown in confidence and learnt skills that will help him in life. The coaches at Apex have a passion for Taekwondo that’s contagious, their knowledge of the martial art is outstanding and they go above and beyond for their students and their club.

Apex Taekwondo has been nothing short of transformative for our son. When he joined just three years ago, he had absolutely no experience. Now, not only has his skill progressed to the level of a fighter competing abroad, but the change in his character has been incredible. His confidence and self-belief have soared. More than that, the club provides a truly unique environment. His teammates are more than just friends; they are a second family who support and push each other. The opportunities he’s received—from competing internationally to now training with the British Taekwondo National Team—are a testament to the club’s exceptional coaching and spirit. The future truly seems endless thanks to Apex!

My son Connor has been training for over three years and doing sparring competitions for over a year now. His confidence, coordination, and overall skills have improved tremendously. The coaches at Apex are absolutely fantastic—they uplift the kids while giving constructive feedback in a way that truly helps them grow. I’ve also recently returned to taekwondo myself, and it has done wonders for my mental health and confidence. I honestly couldn’t ask for a better group of coaches to have in our corner. Highly recommend!

Both my daughters wanted to try martial arts, so we trialed several clubs in the area—but Apex stood out immediately. The welcoming atmosphere and supportive coaches made them feel at home from day one. Apex truly feels like a family—everyone encourages each other, and the sense of community is amazing. In just two years, both of my daughters achieved their black belts, winning medals and trophies along the way. The club also hosts its own competitions, where the whole team gets involved, creating a fantastic experience for everyone. They often train with other clubs too, gaining more experience and a variety of training styles, which has been invaluable for their development.
Training at Apex has boosted their fitness, confidence, and resilience, which has even carried over into school and college. For those who want to go further, there are opportunities to train with GB squads, compete in National Championships, and even attend international training camps and tournaments abroad. Apex welcomes all ages—from toddlers to the elderly—and is perfect for any level of fitness or experience.
We couldn’t be prouder and highly recommend Apex to anyone looking for a friendly, professional martial arts club. Thank you, Master Rick, for providing such a fun and safe environment.

My daughter began her Taekwondo journey over nine years ago, and in that time I’ve watched her confidence grow and her development go from strength to strength. Her two brothers have proudly followed in her footsteps. Taekwondo has given them so much more than training, competitions, and medals — it has given them friendships that stretch from within the club to across the wider Taekwondo circuit. The commitment, dedication, and belief shown by the coaches is truly second to none. They encourage, nurture, and support every student, helping them progress along their own individual path. The club really is one big family, and without the unwavering support of the coaches, students, and parents, the children wouldn’t be where they are today. Beyond the gym, Taekwondo has helped them build resilience, develop a positive mindset, and stay focused both
